Sail the Seas in Update 7.0![]

Seafaring

Update released on 28 December 2016. Seafaring is available to all Chiefs who have reached level 28. You can access it through this button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, under the island buttons:

Ship

This is a whole new mode in The Tribez, so it has its own features, buildings, and mechanics that you’ll eventually discover! Arcana the pirate will guide you through the new and fascinating world of Seafaring, so be sure to make friends with her!

Initial Dialogues[]

Arcana: Now this is the place for me! How's the smell o' the sea for you, Captain?

I have a dream! I want to discover all of the uncharted islands of the Athlantean Ocean and sail to the icy seas of the North!

You wouldn't turn a poor girl down, would you? To fulfill my dream, we must build a ship!

Guide[]

Apart from tons of fun and all the amazing adventures you’ll experience playing this mode, sailing also has something important to offer for the main game itself. These wonderful decorations will fit perfectly on your islands, great Chiefs! Just take a look:

Pegasus

Pegasus, Temple of Wisdom and Mysterious Gate

You will start your sailing journey in the corner of a huge map you are yet to explore. Details on Territories and Islands to be explored can be found here. You’ll find just a couple of core buildings at first, to help you out as you get started. The rest is up to you!

Seafaring

Let’s learn about the buildings you’ll find there.

Warehouse[]

Warehouse.Seafaring.
It works in a similar way to the Larder in Fisherman’s cove. It stocks up all the items you may receive during your sea adventures.

Upgrade it regularly so that you don’t ever get stuck in your sailing adventures! It’s quite important to always have enough space for the treasures you find on the unexplored islands. More details can be found here.

Spirit Lighthouse[]

Spirit light house
That allows you to discover new territories covered by fog.

Exploration is incredibly exciting, isn’t it? With the help of this building you’ll be able to see all the hidden lands clearly, and gain access to still more amazing quests and mechanics when you unlock them! Take note that the further a certain land is, the higher the level of the Spirit Lighthouse required to explore it. So make sure to upgrade it often! More details given here.

Port[]

Port
It will serve its main purpose — building and upgrading ships in your fleet. In sailing mode, your ships’ main function is similar to your tribezmen on the islands. They perform all the main actions and the more you have, the better!

In order to have more ships, make sure you upgrade the Port frequently. Not only will this let you have a bigger fleet, it will also improve the appearance of the Port !

Safes[]

From time to time in this game mode, you’ll meet some wonderful creatures, called Mermaids.

MermaidOnSea
MermaidSafe
They will gladly share Mermaid Treasures with you, if you’re kind to them. As far as game mechanics go, this feature works the same as safes, so you should be very familiar with it.
Treasures of the mermaid contain gold, resources, and objects that you can glean on the maritime islands, depending on the level of the lighthouse.

The Sailing level[]

Sailing level
It is a game mechanic very similar to the Happiness level.

It can be gained by sailing, restoring various structures, building ships and interacting with Mermaids. Keep track of it, as you will need to increase it to upgrade the Spirit Lighthouse and have the chance to explore new territories !

Sailing level80
The maximum level seems to be 80 (as of March 2020)

You can reach it before having discovered all the islands

The wooden sign under the experience gauge indicates the number of ships used out of the total number of ships available.

A board with sailing levels can be found here. Now, you know how fun, exciting and useful Seafaring is! After that, don’t waste a single second — hurry to the game, and explore uncharted lands!

More information[]

  • Click/tap here for Seafaring Quests.
  • Deals with The Lady of the Seas help you by lowering travel costs by 50%
  • Antique Shell helps open more islands with bonus
  • There is no direct access to the backpack from this page, unfortunately you have to return to one of the 9 main islands to view it or to take an object!

Strategic tips[]

  • We can find that the trips are too expensive for our level of play. So we can do a little bit the same way as with the chief's residence: saturate the warehouse and pick up only the goods from the siren's chests (items then go into the bagpack) but be careful , because the gifts from these chests are not random: they are the same depending on the level reached in seafaring
  • To empty the inventory without selling, if you have reached the corresponding islands, and once the corresponding quests obtained, you can start to build the buildings (Pegasus, temple of wisdom, mystery door) on each main island. In this case the necessary objects are taken from the warehouse, but not from the inventory (bagpack)
  • Send ships to each discovered island and pick them up only when needed. Thus the golden chests of bonuses to the islands will go to the picked islands chosen.
  • If you want to retrieve objects from the inventory, do so only by type of object and leave space in the warehouse only for the number of objects of the same kind desired: indeed, the inventory is empty especially as there are empty spaces in the warehouse.
  • Mermaid and expansion Tips from mapho (avoiding having Seafaring be a resource sink):
    • I'm rewording some of the tips mentioned above because I didn't quite understand what it was trying to say. I'm a bit disappointed it took me this long to figure it out on my own. Seafaring is a resource sink, unless you make full use of the mermaid. If your seafaring warehouse is full, any mermaid drops will go directly to your island bag, allowing you to safely keep your excess drops. (Resources found on islands will remain on the island if you don't have enough space to collect them, forcing you to throw away something from your warehouse before you can collect/return to that island again.)
    • To pull stuff out of your island bag, you'll need to throw something away from your seafaring warehouse to leave room, then go back to your island, and collect your material. You'll only pull out how much space you created in your warehouse. You can use this to your advantage as you can pull out exactly what you need, in the quantity you need it, without spending resources to sail to islands. (Later islands get expensive as they require near-impossible-to-farm-in-large-quantities-without-dropping-real-cash-for-special-buildings materials like wool and thread.)
    • The mermaid drops are predictable and advances as your Seafaring level goes up every 5 levels. If you want to avoid this area being a resource sink, only farm the mermaid materials to your bag until you have enough "free" materials before you start going to islands. (I'll send when they have the 20% bonus then just leave them uncollected until I want them.) Just open the map once every few hours (she appears multiple times a day - not sure on how often she shows up), open her chest (if it's free/ad), then leave. The material she drops depends on your seafaring level, so it's to your advantage to NOT level up until you've collected enough free resources. Importantly, once you reach islands that need thread/wool, it will be hard to continue if you haven't already collected those materials, or if you haven't purchased the real-cash buildings that drop them easily. Avoid rushing for the islands and leveling up until you've got enough mermaid drops stored in your bag to unlock your warehouse before your territories are open.
    • The materials needed to expand the warehouse come from an advanced territory. In order to unlock that territory, you'll need nearly your entire current warehouse space to house enough materials for it. It's fruitless to try to save mermaid drops for a warehouse expansion if you haven't already done the territory expansion that doesn't require the advanced material yet. Warehouse math: To upgrade from warehouse level 14 (375 inventory space) to level 15, you need 40 Athlantean Anchor, which drops in territory 6. To unlock Territory 6, you need to dedicate 350 items of your 375 warehouse space, only leaving you 25 space to hold onto those 40 Anchors for the warehouse upgrade. It's not possible.
    • Mermaid drops change every 5 levels. Mermaid first appears after you finish the earliest quests (she first appeared for me at level 4 - immediately when I got a quest to look for her and collect her rewards) and dropped Converters (the 2nd lowest resource).
      • As soon as I hit level 5, she started dropping Scopes (3rd lowest resource)
      • 10 was star charts, 15 Letters, 20 Symbols, 25 Anchor, 30 Amulet, etc.
